Study: Quality preschooling saves schools money in long run

For every dollar invested now in high-quality kindergarten for 4-year-olds, Wisconsin schools would save 68 cents later in special-education and teacher-turnover costs, reports a study sponsored by Pre-K Now and the Trust for Early Education. Experts disagree as to whether it's preferable to target only at-risk children or offer universal preschooling.
