Survey: "American Idol" spots cost the most

For the third consecutive year, Fox Broadcasting Co.'s "American Idol," with a top rate of $700,000 for a 30-second spot on Tuesday night, ranks as the priciest show, according to an initial survey of media shops by Advertising Age. Other shows commanding top ad dollars include Fox's "House," ABC's "Desperate Housewives," and ABC freshman series "Brothers and Sisters."
