Archbishop Desmond Tutu wrote in a 1998 letter to then-Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey that he was "ashamed to be Anglican" because of the church's stance prohibiting gay priests, according to the new book, "Rabble-Rouser for Peace," the first authorized biography of the South African Nobel Peace Prize winner.
