New York subway to expand 10-month experiment

New York City transit officials declared a 10-month experiment on two subway lines a success. The experiment gave each subway line a general manager who could respond quickly to decisions on lines and routes. "When people see something that would make life better for passengers, they're empowered to do it," said Howard H. Roberts Jr., president of New York City Transit.
