Antitrust questions raised about Microsoft, Yahoo! search merger

In a letter to the U.S. Justice Department Antitrust Division, the Center for Digital Democracy and three other watchdog organizations suggest a merger between Microsoft and Yahoo! search platforms could place competitors at a potentially unfair disadvantage. "The specter of a joint Yahoo! and Microsoft-operated Consortium must be evaluated as well for its potential impact on other online publishers," the letter says.
