Dominion may construct a third nuclear reactor at Virginia facility

Dominion Virginia Power is considering building another reactor at its North Anna nuclear facility in Virginia as part of the firm's plan to generate an additional 7,900 megawatts to meet long-term power demand. This comes after state lawmakers last year passed a bill that requires utility firms in the state to submit a biennial Integrated Resource Plan, which is designed to determine the most cost-effective method to meet an expected increase in energy needs during the next 15 years.
