Few hospital EDs ready to properly care for children

Only 6% of nearly 4,000 U.S. hospital emergency departments are equipped to properly care for pediatric patients, according to a joint policy statement from three medical associations. One of the lead authors noted 80% of EDs have about 90% of needed equipment but "surprising deficiencies" remain.
