Institute to help educators, interpreters improve their sign language

Sorenson Communications, the company that pioneered video relay service videophones, has created a training center in Utah to hone the skills of educators and interpreters trained in American Sign Language. The VRS Interpreting Institute in Taylorsville will allow participants to review their signing on videophones. "You can do a disservice to people if you don't interpret well," said Chris Wakeland, the company's vice president of interpreting.
