Investors clear troubled assets from books as CDOs liquidated

Billions of dollars' worth of collateralized debt obligations are being liquidated, enabling investors -- particularly banks and insurance companies -- to clear up their books. "There has been a significant increase in the amount of CDO liquidations," said Morgan Stanley analyst Vishwanath Tirupattur. "The rally across asset classes has given investors an incentive to liquidate."
