Obama urges cooperation among countries to forge climate accord

Efforts to strike an international pact on climate change are facing "doubts and difficulties" as economies strive to recover from the recession, President Barack Obama said. He and China's President Hu Jintao spoke at a U.N. summit to address the need for a new treaty in time for a December meeting in Copenhagen. The richest countries should take the lead, while developing countries including China should ramp up measures to reduce carbon emissions, Obama added.
