Stevia sweeteners grab market share

It has been nine months since the Food and Drug Administration approved sweeteners made with an extract of the stevia plant, and they account for 10% of the U.S. tabletop sugar-substitute market. A report notes that tabletop use is "critical in terms of developing brand recognition," and expects rapid acceptance and growing sales of the zero-calorie natural sweetener.
