BofA says the pace of mortgage modifications under HAMP is slowing

Bank of America said that it completed 3,600 mortgage modifications last month under the Home Affordable Modification Program, the government's primary aid program to curb foreclosures. That is the fewest permanent modifications made in a month since the program began at the start of this year. Meanwhile, the Bank of America private mortgage program modified loans for about 10,000 borrowers in August.
