DNA tests for colon cancer aren't cost effective, study says

Researchers said unless Medicare approves coverage of DNA testing for colon cancer or prices for the procedure drop considerably it will not be a cost-effective screening tool. Medicare already covers colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, barium enema and fecal occult blood testing, all less expensive but effective colon cancer tests.
