Economists weigh in on GOP's plan to cure unemployment

Congressional Republicans say that freezing all tax rates at their current levels and cutting federal spending are two simple steps the government can take to reduce unemployment. Economists are divided about the plan, but broadly agree that a clearer picture from the president about tax rates would help the economy. Economists also say spending cuts are less likely than tax policy to create jobs.
