CHIME cautions against rushing to reconcile MU with EHR metadata

CHIME has asked the ONC to slow down on integrating metadata tags into the next stage of meaningful use requirements for EHRs. The ONC need to "engage hospitals, vendors and health information organizations to determine feasibility for future meaningful-use certification. However, we do not foresee this scenario happening before meaningful use Stage 3," CHIME said in response to the agency's advance notice on proposed EHR metadata standards.
