Research on protein may hold promise for diabetes, obesity

A type of protein called necdin was found to prohibit the growth of energy-burning brown fats, experts reported in Endocrinology. Researchers said finding ways to either stimulate a necdin-blocking protein or blocking a different protein that activates necdin may be a target to aid in the fight against diabetes and obesity.
