Work under way on $395M courthouse in California

The last of the more than 11,000 yards of concrete has been placed for the foundation mat at the $395 million Gov. George Deukmejian Courthouse in Long Beach, Calif. Crews will now move on to installing foundation walls and support piles. The courthouse is slated to contain 31 civil and criminal courtrooms and 9,200 square feet of retail space when it is completed in the latter part of 2013.
