India's fast-food sector speeds up amid slower economy

International quickservice chains including McDonald's, KFC, Taco Bell, Domino's Pizza and Pizza Hut are in expansion mode in India, as are a growing number of local chains, according to Crisil Research, which believes the sector's sales will double to 70 billion rupees in 2015, driven largely by new restaurant openings. Incomes are rising and more women are joining the workforce, fueling a shift toward fast-food dining.
