Medicare Part D coverage doesn't need fixing

The Medicare prescription benefit program has shown its worth both for beneficiaries and taxpayers since implementation in 2006, but dramatic changes could be considered as congressional debate over budget cuts continues, Healthcare Leadership Council President Mary R. Grealy writes. "Proposals to drastically overhaul this essential program for seniors will inevitably undermine the ability of Medicare Part D to continue providing affordable medications to the nation's seniors and beneficiaries with disabilities," Grealy writes.
