Microsoft is busy realigning business and OS strategies

While Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer continues a business realignment and internal reorganization effort, the vendor is advancing the strategy of developing a unified code to run everything from servers to smartphones. "We really should have one silicon interface for all of our devices. We should have one set of developer APIs on all of our devices," said Terry Myerson, executive VP of Microsoft's Operating Systems Engineering Group.
