GAO critical of DOD space acquisitions program

The General Accounting Office wants the Department of Defense to separate technology development from product development in its space acquisitions program to decrease the risk that problems won't be discovered until they are too difficult or expensive to fix. The DOD, however, disagreed with that assessment, saying its policy will let it take advantage of cutting-edge technology.
