New York county opts for alternative physics exam

Nassau district school superintendents, frustrated over a state Board of Regents delay in revising an optional physics exam, have decided to create their own countywide test. The Regents physics exam was withdrawn after teachers complained that the state's general guidelines and tough scoring scale made it hard to prepare students to pass the exam.
