Steel tariff debate continues

The U.S. International Trade Commission's report that the 18-month-old U.S. steel tariffs have helped the domestic steel industry at the expense of the overall economy likely will fuel the debate over their continuation. The Bush administration's economic team wants to lift the tariffs, while the steel-producing industry argues it needs more time to become internationally competitive.
