Canadian retailers optimistic about long-term opportunities

Although trading conditions in Canada are seen as difficult in the short term, retailers expect that they will expand their businesses in the next few years. Speaking at a retail conference in Toronto, retail executives discussed their differing growth strategies as well as the economic downturn and the toll it has taken on their businesses. Some retailers in Canada are building smaller stores and squeezing more from existing operations to cope with the economic challenges.
