Facebook exec makes pitch for site as hub for users, marketers

Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, during an Advertising Week presentation, emphasized the social network's impressive growth -- including reaching the 300-million user mark this month. Sandberg also sought to address some of marketers' concerns about ROI on ads by touting its new BrandLift initiative with Nielsen and an expansion of its Engagement Ads program to allow for the distribution of product samples.
