Government to post tally of stimulus jobs online

As part of an effort to improve transparency, the federal government in October will report the number of jobs created or saved by the stimulus plan online at recovery.gov. The posted numbers will reflect data submitted by states and local governments and may not be complete, according to the Government Accountability Office. Recipients of stimulus funds will be asked to give their best guess as to whether a job would have been lost if stimulus funds had not been received, officials said.
