Mediterranean diet seen as more expensive

A Mediterranean diet with lots of fish, olive oil, legumes, fruit and vegetables is healthful but also pricier than a "Western diet" high in saturated fat, sugar and red meat, researchers say. This "economic barrier" should be taken into consideration when offering dietary counseling, said the lead scientist for the Spanish study.
