Study: Fat tissue helps leukemia cells evade chemotherapy

U.S. researchers studying obese mice found that leukemia cells can hide from chemotherapy drugs inside fat tissue. They said the finding might explain why obese children with leukemia are more prone to relapse and more likely to develop resistance to chemotherapy than their leaner counterparts.
