Study: Obesity adds to workers' compensation costs

Obesity contributes to higher medical care and wage replacement costs in workers' compensation, according to a study by the National Council on Compensation Insurance. Compensation claims from obese workers are significantly higher than those from their coworkers who weigh less, the study found.
