Verizon Wireless, Best Buy will partner on new e-reader

Verizon Wireless will support a new $399 touch-screen e-reader along its 3G network under a partnership with iRex Technologies and Best Buy, which will sell the device, according to a published report that said iRex would announce its U.S. plans today for its DR800SG model. The research firm iSuppli predicts the number of e-readers sold globally will jump fivefold this year to more than 5 million units, a majority of them in North America.
