Clean-energy bill fails to clear Calif. Senate panel

The California Senate Environmental Quality Committee rejected an Assembly-passed bill that would have given a boost to in-state production of clean electricity and biomass-derived biofuels. The committee's rejection of the bill will force "bio-based-technology providers to take their projects elsewhere," warned Jim Stewart, chairman of the Bioenergy Producers Association.
