$1.5B sports complex in Nevada gets local support

A $1.5 billion sports complex planned for Henderson, Nev., is Texas businessman Chris Milam's fourth proposal for an arena-stadium project in the Las Vegas area. This one has progressed enough that local officials support Milam's attempt to purchase 485 acres from the Bureau of Land Management. Plans for the project call for a 17,500-seat arena and a 25,000-seat soccer stadium, as well as soccer fields, tennis courts and retail spaces. However, the developer hasn't recruited any major sports franchise to play in the venue.
