French banks trim balance sheets amid debt-crisis concerns

Societe Generale and BNP Paribas are reining in their balance sheets because of concerns about their exposure to Europe's sovereign-debt crisis. "The banks are entering a slimming cure, which is forced by the sovereign crisis," said Jerome Forneris of Banque Martin Maurel.
