Republican legislators set to oppose Obama's NCLB waivers:

Many Republican legislators are opposed to the Obama administration's plan to offer waivers of some No Child Left Behind requirements. They say the federal government is requiring too much of states, and that the requirements are politically motivated. States must meet three requirements to receive a waiver: set standards for college- and career-readiness, develop new accountability systems for reporting under-performing schools, and create new systems for evaluating teachers.
