Analysis: Orlistat leads to reduced waist circumference

An analysis of multiple studies showed that overweight or obese patients taking orlistat had greater reductions in waist circumference at six and 12 months than did those who took a placebo or had standard care such as lifestyle advice and exercise, U.K. researchers reported on the website of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism. Researchers said the use of lorcaserin did not have a significant effect on waist circumference.
