FDA finalizes guidelines on mobile health applications

The FDA has issued final guidance outlining how it intends to regulate mobile health applications. The agency said it would not target most mHealth apps that record or monitor health information, but it believes apps used with medical devices or those that transform tablets or smartphones into such devices should be subject to regulation.
