New gum claims to provide immune system boost

Immuno Gum, a new fortified chewing gum, is intended to provide the same immune system-boosting power as a soluble vitamin, according to Dr. Terry O'Neil, the product's creator. The gum is fortified with ingredients such as zinc, elderberry and vitamin C, all known to support immune function. O'Neil said the company plans to conduct an efficacy study in the next 18 months in order to win FDA approval.
