The review process at the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office is dividing technology interests that lobby members of Congress, Kate Tummarello writes. One side, which includes AT&T, Google and Intel, supports the expansion of such reviews, while another group that include Adobe Systems, IBM and Microsoft opposes legislation proposed in Congress. Separately, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, released a second draft of a bill to stop litigation abuses by "patent trolls."
