Weis CEO Hepfinger steps down and leaves board

David Hepfinger has resigned as Weis Markets' president and CEO, as well as from the board of directors, "to pursue other interests," the company says. Hepfinger, promoted to CEO in 2009, is being replaced temporarily by Vice Chairman Jonathan Weis. Kurt Schertle, executive vice president of sale and merchandising, is assuming responsibility for store operations.
