Computerized trading changes face of Wall Street

Computerized trading has quickly cut down the need for face-to-face transactions at the New York Stock Exchange and other equities markets. When NYSE completes plans to close two trading rooms, the size of the floor will be half of what it was at its peak. Meanwhile, only a handful of big investment banks have headquarters at or near Wall Street.
