Is functional water necessary?

Functional water has experienced a rise in popularity because of consumers' eagerness to try new products with quick and convenient health remedies. But some nutritionists question whether consumers should be taking in the extra calories that sometimes come with the additional nutrients and sweeteners in functional waters. Some dietitians recommend other bottled water products such as purified, spring and mineral waters that contain no added ingredients.
