Early-strength concrete allows Denver to reopen roads quickly

Denver officials are using a high-early-strength concrete called Chronolia to reopen roads to traffic quickly after water main repairs. The concrete allows crews to open roads five hours after pouring the concrete, said Sarah Davis, Denver Water paving and permit coordinator. The city uses the early-strength concrete in busy areas that must be reopened for rush hour.
