Project seeks crops with "climate-proof" traits

The Global Crop Diversity Trust is coordinating an effort to search the world's seed collections to identify traits that could shield food production against the effects of climate change. Researchers with the $1.5 million project hope to create an extensive profile of the different "climate-proof" characteristics and the crops in which they are found over the next two years.
