MTA to spend $28.1 billion on New York transit projects

New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority has voted to spend $28.1 billion between 2010 and 2014 on transit projects that include a second Long Island Rail Road track and parking improvements at congested train stations. The plan has raised some concerns among lawmakers because MTA officials say they are $10 billion short for funding the entire plan.
