Online consortium provides opportunity to expand course offerings

A nonprofit consortium of 419 middle- and high-schools is offering virtual classes for all levels and abilities, offering Advanced Placement and other specialized courses that many brick-and-mortar schools are unable to offer. The Virtual High School includes about 260 teachers in 23 countries, and it gives the 9,500 participating students opportunities to take classes on topics they wouldn't be able to take otherwise, such as pre-veterinary medicine, personal finance and film.
