TiVo's Rogers: DVRs becoming the "Google of television"

Digital video recorders are becoming so advanced that they can provide viewers with a comprehensive experience that includes TV shows, movies, digital photos and a link to the Internet, according to TiVo Chief Executive Officer Tom Rogers. He envisions a day when viewers will have "the ability to get anything you want whenever you want -- linear or broadcast video, online video, broadband content -- with the consumer not having to know what the underlying delivery mode is. All they know is the Google-of-television approach."
