Amadeus forecasts a wave of consolidation among TMCs

Ian Wheeler, vice president for marketing and distribution at Amadeus, said he expects travel management companies to undergo another wave of consolidation. Along with his colleague Denis Lacroix, Wheeler forecast a revival of the consumer battle with airlines regarding global distribution fees. The executives also expect self-booking tools will become more in tune with the needs of travelers.
