Unemployment numbers higher than anticipated

Claims for unemployment benefits rose 12,000 to 465,000, higher than the 450,000 anticipated by analysts, according to the Labor Department. Peter Kenny, managing director of Knight Equity Markets in New Jersey, does not see a considerable boost in employment in the foreseeable future as demand and production will continue to sag.
