U.S. leads world in companies offering employee wellness

West Virginia University business and economics professor Jeff Houghton said U.S. companies lead the world in offering employee wellness programs, with 86% of firms offering some type of employee package. He said his research has shown companies can realize bottom-line benefits through reduced health care costs and absenteeism and higher productivity.
