Social studies exam scores part of N.C. teacher-evaluation process

Social studies and science tests will be among the new exams North Carolina middle- and elementary-school students will take as part of the state's Race to the Top plan. North Carolina is administering these common tests in subjects in which no state assessment is already used. Test scores will be used as part of the state's teacher-evaluation program.
